Shakhlo Khasanova

Shakhlo Khasanova has a wealth of experience in sustainable urban development and smart cities. She received her first Master's degree in International Business and Management from Westminster International University in Tashkent, Uzbekistan and her second MA degree from American University in Global Environmental Policy. She worked for seven years at the Center for the Development of Electronic Government Systems and implemented several projects. In 2018, she was invited to participate in the International Summer School on Parties and Democracy organized by the ECHR / ODIHR and the OSCE. She later completed the international training course “Building Sustainable Communities: Leadership, Gender and the Environment”, organized by the Israel Agency for International Development Cooperation and the UN Environment Program. In addition, her participation in an Intensive Course in Law and Economics received at the Riga Graduate School of Law with study visits to European Union institutions helped her gain outstanding knowledge in international relations and European Union development policy.

She is a LEED Green Associate and was awarded the Louis Goodman Award for Academic Excellence from the Global Environment Policy Faculty.
