Montgomery County Faith Alliance for Climate Solutions (MC-FACS) unites people of faith to help solve the climate emergency that is disrupting and threatening life on Earth. We pursue four goals in our work:

  1. sound a moral and urgent call to address climate change;
  2. plan and implement ethical- and spiritual-based climate policies and actions on a scale appropriate to the emergency from a nonpartisan perspective;
  3. embolden and build the capacity within congregations and denominations to do good works that protect our planet and its people; and
  4. encourage congregations and denominations to become champions of transformation to address climate change.

We work primarily on the local level—Montgomery County, the most populous jurisdiction in Maryland—and occasionally on state, national, and international levels, wherever we can have the greatest impact.

MC-FACS represents a diverse community of faiths, whose voices are valuable in the conversation on climate change, and whose faith-based actions draw on a deep well of love for each other and the planet we share.

Our network is inclusive and open to all faith and spiritual groups, ethnicities, and nationalities.
